ProFunctions Plugin
If you want to add custom code to functions.php
or tweak your theme without losing those changes when you update (or even switch to another theme), our ProFunctions plugin is the easiest solution.
The ProFunctions plugin is completely empty by default—it doesn’t include any code of its own. You simply install it on your site, activate it, and add your custom PHP code inside it. The easiest way is through Plugins > Plugin File Editor in your WordPress dashboard.
Important! If you’re not confident with PHP, be careful. A single missing bracket, quote, or a bad line break can cause a fatal error that breaks your site. Always keep FTP or your hosting control panel handy so you can delete or fix
/wp-content/plugins/profunctions.php
if something goes wrong. If your site goes down after editing this plugin, you can remove or restore the file to get it back online.
You can download the plugin here.
- Install it via Plugins > Add New, then click Upload Plugin.
- After uploading, activate the plugin and go to Plugins > Plugin File Editor.
- At the top, select the ProFunctions plugin and add your custom code.
